Muyshondt Avila boasts two, highly efficient mills, each designed with a specific purpose. Both mills receive coffee from the various coffee producing regions in the country guaranteeing a quality of cherry fruit in order to provide our customers only the very best coffees. Our year-round attention and personalized assistance to our producers also allows for traceability starting from the coffee plant.
San Antonio Mill Is located in Sacacoyo, a region of the country which is one of the most favorable coffee producing zones. San Antonio is the larger of the two mills, and also performs as the central dry mill of the company. San Antonio operates two drying systems to meet the demands for different coffees. For commercial preparations, mechanical dryers are used, and for special and gourmet preparations, clay brick patios are used for sun drying the coffee.
Beneficio San Antonio is the only mill in El Salvador which has its own coffee production, milling process and a roasting unit all on the same premises. With a commitment to nature in the Salvadoran coffee growing region, many years ago we embarked on solutions for the protection of the environment by designing a treatment plant to recycle and clean the water used in the wet process (pulping). After intense investigations and consulting international experts in the field of water treatment, we were able to design a highly efficient water treatment plant which keeps the flora and fauna of the area protected and undisturbed.
Our modern roasting facility includes a cupping room for quality control and a packaging and labeling unit beside our roasters and grinders. We produce a number of local brands in a large range of quality.
El Diamante Mill is located in Juayúa, Sonsonate, the best and most prized coffee growing region in El Salvador. The region has the optimum climatic conditions, topography and volcanically enriched soil for the cultivation of the finest Strictly High Grown coffee. The most appreciated varieties of coffee from El Salvador and the region are Bourbon and Paca. El Diamante has an excellent reputation for being dedicated and designed to process special coffee preparations. The coffee entering El Diamante mill is sun dried on clay-brick patios as it has been done for decades, and it is carefully handled to ensure its highest quality.
